estravai asked:

I just learned that when gay sex shops were illegal in England a lot of them masqueraded as book shops in SoHo, and now I’m dying to know how Aziraphale might have reacted to patrons who may have mistook his shop for something else.

neil-gaiman:

Kindly, and with directions to the bookshop they were actually looking for, around the corner.

sowhatnotcreative asked:

You (a male) was made uncomfortable by women defining women as female? The misogyny is staggering.

neil-gaiman:

Oh, bless your transphobic heart. I’m not made uncomfortable by anyone defining anyone as anything. I’m saddened by anyone adding to the pain and grief and suffering of this world, and I feel that transphobic definitions of gender, forcing people born female to identify as female, forcing people born male to identify as male, forcing intersex people to identify as whatever their families or doctors decide to impose on them, just adds heartbreak to an already difficult world.

I used to live about 30 minutes from here! Hunan is one of the most beautiful places on earth y’all.

Along with Furong, there’s another nearby trail to hike called Zuolongxia (that’s me on the right hiking there, careful it’s a little dangerous lol!)

Another hour or so northeast you’ll find Zhangjiajie and Wulingyuan, home to the avatar mountains

And further south you’ll see another gorgeous river town called Fenghuang, it’s so beautiful at night

Finally, one of my absolute favorites and very underrated and unknown, Dehang is one of the most beautiful places to go hiking! (Another fun fact, I’ve hiked out onto that platform, and they filmed a scene in Wonder Woman there!)

China is full of some of the most gorgeous places!!!

“Mrs R” was the pseudonym of Phyllis Shafer, a Kansas City local who helped found the Phoenix Society for Individual Freedom in 1966, a full three years before Stonewall. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, she and her son Drew operated the Phoenix House, a safe haven for queer people in the city, and a hub of national queer activism. Drew passed away due to AIDS related complications in the 1980s, and his lover, Mickey Ray, spent the rest of his life fighting to keep his memory alive, largely contributing to the creation of the Gay and Lesbian Archive of Mid-America.

“We tend to view American history as this constant march toward progress, which is total crap,” he says. “You gotta fight for that stuff. And if you don’t fight for that, you can fall backward. Like it’s not just this linear history.“

Good quote from the article which may be relevant right now.
